Every minecraft server I join says "Outdated server!" is there a problem with my minecraft?

Or downgrade your minecraft with a minecraft.jar file from your 1.2.3 backup

If you have one. Then you will be able to play on the most servers again.

Should I try deleting my .jar folder then run minecraft and bring it up again?

No if you do this, minecraft will download a new minecraft.jar ( version 1.2.4 )
